Features:
- AC servo motor BSH 14.9 Nm 4000 rpm untapped shaft without brake IP50
- High power density, medium inertia three-phase AC synchronous servo motor
- It is primarily used in conjunction with Schneider Lexium 05 or Lexium 15 series drives and is widely used in automated production lines in industries such as printing, packaging, textiles, and material handling
The BSH1402P21A2A is a high-performance AC servo motor from Schneider Electric's Lexium BSH series. Designed for high-dynamic performance and high-intensity industrial automation applications, this motor has a standard flange diameter of 140 mm, a rated output power of 3.4 kW, and a maximum mechanical speed of 4000 rpm. It provides a continuous stopping torque of 14.9 N·m (up to 19.5 N·m at certain voltages) and maintains extremely high responsiveness during frequent reciprocating motion under high loads and high accelerations.
In terms of hardware configuration and electrical characteristics, this model exhibits extremely high precision and industrial-grade adaptability. It integrates a single-turn absolute encoder based on the SinCos Hiperface protocol (with a feedback resolution of up to 128 cycles/revolution), which can provide high-precision mechanical rotor position and speed feedback for compatible Lexium series servo drives, thereby eliminating system transmission errors.
The BSH1402P21A2A Schneider Electric AC servo motor may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

From a working principle perspective, the BSH1402P21A2A servo motor is primarily based on the electromagnetic induction principle and closed-loop vector control technology of a three-phase AC permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). When the matched Lexium servo amplifier outputs a three-phase sinusoidal AC current modulated by pulse width modulation (PWM) and inputs it to the motor stator windings, a uniformly rotating alternating magnetic field is generated inside the stator.
The high remanence and high coercivity permanent magnets embedded inside the motor rotor attract each other with the rotating magnetic field of the stator, thus maintaining synchronous rotation and outputting strong mechanical power at the optical shaft end through reluctance torque.
During rotation, the SinCos absolute encoder at the tail end captures minute angular changes of the rotor in real time through photoelectric or magnetoelectric induction and feeds back the position data to the driver in the form of analog sine and cosine signals. The driver then uses this data to adjust the amplitude and phase of the high-frequency stator current, thereby achieving high-precision full closed-loop control of the "current loop-speed loop-position loop".
1. CE Mark (European Conformity): Fully compliant with EU core directives on safety, health, and environmental protection, and freely circulated within the European Economic Area (EEA).
2. UL Certification (Underwriters Laboratories, USA): Certified by a leading US safety testing organization, certification document number E208613, proving compliance with North American electrical safety and fire protection standards.
3. CSA Certification (Canadian Standards Association): Certified by the Canadian Standards Association, fully compliant with Canadian industrial electrical control equipment compliance requirements.
4. UKCA Certification (UK Conformity Assessment): Compliant with product safety and technical standards implemented for the UK market after Brexit.
5. IEC/EN 60034-1 (Standard for Rotating Electrical Machines): The mechanical structure, rated operating characteristics, temperature rise limits, insulation class (usually Class F insulation), and basic electrical performance of the electrical machine strictly comply with the standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
6. IEC International Flange Standard: The motor's mechanical interface (140mm square flange mounting surface) conforms to international IEC standards, ensuring interchangeability with globally standardized gearboxes or mechanical transmission components.
7. IEC/EN 61800-5-1 and IEC/EN 61800-3: As part of a speed-regulating motor drive system, its overall electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design is highly consistent with and compliant with relevant standards for the matching Schneider Lexium drive.
8. IP Protection Rating (IEC 60529): This model has a basic protection rating of IP50, eliminating the need for special shaft seals at the shaft ends; the overall design of the housing and connectors meets the higher IP65/IP67 sealing standards, effectively preventing dust and liquid ingress.
9. RoHS Compliance (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive): Fully compliant with EU environmental directives, which restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, making it a green and environmentally friendly automation hardware.
10. Non-ATEX Explosion-Proof Certification: Please note that Schneider Electric's standard series servo motors, including the BSH and BMH series, have not yet obtained ATEX explosion-proof certification.
Therefore, they must not be deployed in hazardous areas containing flammable or explosive gases or dust (hazardous areas 0/1/2, etc.).
