Key Specifications & Roles
Operating principle
Features:
- It serves as a power interface, connecting the control electronics board (such as the CUD1 control board) to the main power semiconductor section of the driver
- It has built-in necessary power plug terminals for easy wiring of field equipment
- This specific internal circuit board design is classified as a product end-of-life (SELP) product
This circuit board plays a crucial electrical role in the DC drive system, primarily connecting the upper-level control logic unit and the lower-level power supply circuit (such as the thyristor module). It not only integrates standard connection terminals but also boasts excellent anti-interference capabilities and high reliability, ensuring accurate transmission of control commands to the high-voltage power supply circuit.
It is responsible for sending the trigger pulses required to drive the thyristors and provides safety protection linkage interfaces such as emergency stop (E-Stop). Through these multi-dimensional hardware interfaces, the circuit board can monitor the electrical status of the main circuit in real time. Once it detects overcurrent, undervoltage, fan failure, or fuse blowout, it can immediately report the fault to the control unit, thereby effectively ensuring the safe and stable operation of the entire DC speed control system.
The C98043-A7042-L1-6 Siemens Power interface board may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Device Function: Serves as a power interface, connecting the control electronics board (e.g., the CUD1 control board) and the main power semiconductor section of the driver.
Included Components: Includes necessary power plug terminals for easy wiring of field devices.
Lifecycle Status: Siemens has classified this specific internal circuit board design as a SEAL (End of Life) product. This means that new replacements typically require custom orders or must be sourced from other automation component suppliers.
The core working principle of the C98043-A7042-L1-6 lies in the signal isolation, conversion, and transmission between low-voltage control signals and high-voltage power circuits. First, it receives low-voltage trigger logic pulses from the main control board (e.g., CUD1) and converts them into armature trigger pulse signals with sufficient driving capability through internal shaping and amplification circuitry.
This enables precise control of the thyristor conduction angle in the main circuit, thereby achieving AC-to-DC rectification and speed regulation. Simultaneously, the current transformers and conditioning circuits on the board continuously and in reverse obtain high-voltage analog signals from the main circuit, such as armature current, voltage, and temperature.
After electrical isolation and linear conversion, these signals are safely fed back to the microprocessor control unit for closed-loop calculations. Through this bidirectional microsecond-level electrical signal conversion of "downward triggering, upward reporting of status," precise control and comprehensive protection of the DC motor are achieved.
