Primary Industrial Applications
Features:
- Non-contact measurement system based on eddy-current principle
- Ex certified versions for use in hazardous areas (potentially explosive atmospheres)
- Voltage or current output with protection against short circuits
The system is based on the TQ442 non-contact sensor and the IQS450 signal conditioner. Together, they form a calibrated proximity measurement system, where each component is interchangeable. The voltage or current output by the system is proportional to the distance between the sensor tip and the target (e.g., a machine shaft).
The IQS450 signal conditioner includes a high-frequency modulator/demodulator to provide a drive signal to the sensor. This signal generates the electromagnetic field required to measure the gap. The conditioner circuitry is manufactured using high-quality components and mounted within an aluminum profile.
The IQS450 204-450-000-001 Vibro-Meter Signal Conditioner Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Important Notice: Other accessories, manuals, cables, calibration data, software, etc. are not included with this equipment unless listed in the above stock item description. All prices are shown in USD.
The IQS450 signal conditioner can operate at ambient temperatures up to 85°C, but this necessitates reducing the maximum input voltage. The IQS450 must operate between its minimum and maximum supply voltage.
This module is the industry standard for monitoring rotating machinery in power plants, oil refineries, and chemical plants.
Relative Vibration: Measures the dynamic movement of the inner shaft of a hydrodynamic bearing to detect imbalances or misalignments.
Axial Position (Thrust): Monitors the longitudinal position of the rotor of a steam turbine, gas turbine, or water turbine to prevent catastrophic internal contact.
Shaft Speed and Phase: Acts as a key phaser, providing a reference signal once per revolution for speed and phase angle analysis.
Mechanical Protection: Serves as the primary sensor input for systems such as the VM600 or VM600Mk2, triggering automatic shutdown in hazardous situations.
