Features:
- DI524: S500 Digital input module. 32 DI: 24VDC. 1-wire
- AC500 S500 I/O modules
- Operating as a decentralized high-density expansion module within the ABB AC500
Its core function is to convert the physical states of various switching devices (such as buttons, limit switches, proximity switches, and sensor contacts) in industrial applications into digital signals that the PLC can recognize.
As an important component of the S500 distributed I/O expansion system, each module provides up to 32 independent digital input channels, with a standard input voltage of 24V DC, and supports convenient single-wire wiring, significantly reducing wiring space and installation time within the control cabinet.
The DI524 1SAP240000R0001 ABB Digital Input Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

This mechanism, based on optocoupler isolation technology and level conversion, achieves complete physical electrical isolation while ensuring lossless signal transmission. The isolated low-voltage digital signal is filtered by an internal filter chip to eliminate electromagnetic interference and contact bounce (according to a preset delay time), and is finally converted to the standard TTL level required by the microprocessor. These signals are then refreshed in real-time to the CPU image area of the AC500 main controller via the I/O bus interface for user logic program scanning and execution.
High-density sensor interface: Integrates numerous proximity sensors, photoelectric switches, and limit switch contacts for large automated assembly lines.
Control panel feedback: Monitors the actual physical status of machine controls, including operator buttons, key selector switches, and auxiliary emergency stop channels.
Machine status tracking: Enables interlocking of complex equipment by tracking the closure of auxiliary discrete safety devices, motor start relays, and process valves.
High-speed pulse counting: Decodes pulse signals from shaft encoders, flow meters, or part counters using an integrated high-speed channel.
