- Analog slave and master modules used for regulating and routing field signals to the system
The NTAI02 is an analog input terminal unit in ABB Symphony Plus or Harmony control systems. It primarily serves as the physical interface between field instruments and control system I/O modules, receiving 16 analog signals from the industrial field, such as 4-20mA current signals or 1-5V voltage signals.
This unit is typically mounted on a DIN rail in a control cabinet, reliably transmitting process data (such as temperature, pressure, flow rate, etc.) acquired in the field to downstream analog processing modules via pre-installed cables. It is a critical component in the industrial process control signal chain.
The NTAI02 ABB Analog Input Termination Unit may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The analog electrical signal from the field transmitter is first connected to the device's screw terminals. After processing by the internal current sampling resistor (e.g., converting 4-20mA to 1-5V), the signal is transmitted to the I/O module via a dedicated D-type interface or flat cable on the back. Its internal wiring design strictly adheres to electrical isolation and noise reduction standards, ensuring no signal distortion occurs during physical connections, thereby guaranteeing the controller can receive high-precision real-time process parameters.
- Thermocouple and Millivolt Interface: Specifically designed to terminate up to 16 thermocouples or millivolt signals from process equipment.
- Signal Conditioning: Acts as a buffer, amplifying, filtering, and isolating raw analog signals to ensure high-fidelity data for control decisions.
- Cold Junction Compensation: Includes local cold junction reference circuitry, crucial for maintaining measurement accuracy when using thermocouples.
- System Retrofitting and Expansion: Commonly used in power plants, petrochemical plants, and pharmaceutical plants employing the Bailey INFI 90 platform.
