Main Functions and Application Scenarios
Features:
- Relay Output / Digital I/O Termination Board
- ABB Bailey Infi 90 and Net 90
- Integrated 2500 VDC optical isolation between channels protects the main DCS processor from disruptive external power surges
In the system architecture, this unit primarily functions as a "field signal interface bridge," responsible for connecting 12 to 32VDC digital signals from various industrial switches, relays, sensors, and other devices to the processing board of the DCS system. With its compact design and superior industrial-grade durability, this unit provides high-density signal access channels for large-scale industrial automated production lines, thereby comprehensively enhancing the field signal processing capabilities and operational efficiency of the distributed control system.
Furthermore, this terminal module features excellent electrical isolation and field-level diagnostic capabilities. To prevent catastrophic damage to the central control layer from strong electromagnetic interference, surge voltage, or grounding loop imbalances in industrial environments, the NTRO02-A integrates a high-voltage opto-isolation protection mechanism of up to 2500 VDC between each input and output channel.
The NTRO02-A ABB Communication Adapter Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

As the Bailey INFI 90 series is a mature platform, the NTRO02-A module has ceased factory production, but strong support is still available through existing engineering channels:
Other naming conventions: It is typically recorded or labeled as NTR002-A or NTRO02 according to the production batch format.
Industrial-grade anti-interference: Features extremely high channel optical isolation (2500VDC), effectively blocking electrical noise, surges, and voltage spikes in the field, ensuring the safe operation of the core control card.
Equipment status acquisition and control: Commonly used to acquire the on/off status of low-voltage circuit breakers and disconnectors, or to send precise control commands to field solenoid valves, contactors, and relays.
High-safety industry applications: Due to its extremely high stability and long-life design, it is often used in control systems with extremely high safety requirements, such as large thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, petrochemical plants, and heavy equipment manufacturing plants.
