Core Functions and Application
Features:
- Printed Circuit Board (PCB) / Digital I/O Termination Unit
- Sixteen individually configurable sockets (XU1 to XU16) allow for customized routing of individual signal channels
- Four onboard terminal blocks (TB1 to TB4) provide secure physical screw points for field wiring
As the core interface between field cabling and the control rack, this module primarily provides physical connection points for 16 industrial field signals and securely and stably transmits these field signals to the back-end core processing modules (such as DSI digital input, DSO digital output, or ASO analog output modules). This module is suitable for high-frequency applications in power boiler protection, petrochemical safety interlocks, and various complex industrial process control scenarios.
Furthermore, this terminal block offers excellent hardware configurability and interference immunity. It integrates 16 user-adjustable jumpers and a configurable shunt, allowing system engineers to freely define the signal type and power loop for each channel based on the electrical characteristics of different field devices (e.g., selecting internal or external independent power supply modes).
The NTDI0-A ABB Digital I/O Termination Unit may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Important Notice: Other accessories, manuals, cables, calibration data, software, etc. are not included with this equipment unless listed in the above stock item description. All prices are shown in USD.
Voltage Options: Fully supports multi-stage excitation configurations, including 24VDC (3A), 125VDC, or 120VAC (0.25A).
Circuit Protection: Employs dual onboard high-power safety fuses (F1 and F2) designed to isolate overcurrent faults and prevent external circuit surges from damaging the internal DCS system backbone.
Hazard Area Classification: Class I, Zone 2, Groups A, B, C, and D (Temperature Code T4).
Configurable Flexibility: The module board is equipped with configurable jumpers or sockets, allowing system engineers to adjust and configure the hardware based on whether "dry contacts (passive contacts)" or "wet contacts (active signals)" are used for field wiring.
High-Safety Field Protection: The terminal unit incorporates a dedicated fuse and power selection logic, ensuring that it blows first in the event of an external short circuit or electrical fault, thus protecting the expensive back-end multifunction processor (MFP) and core motherboard.
Wide Applications: This card is commonly found in power systems (e.g., boiler protection and turbine control in power plants), petrochemicals (safety interlocking systems), and nuclear power plant control systems with extremely high reliability requirements.
