When used with the 3300 XL proximity sensor and XL extension cable, this system provides an output voltage proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the conductive surface being measured. The system can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) data.

Its primary applications include vibration and position measurement in hydrodynamic bearing machinery, as well as adhesion phasor and velocity measurement. The system provides accurate and stable signal output over a wide temperature range.

The 3300 5 mm probe is an improvement on the previous design. The patented TipLoc molding process achieves a stronger bond between the probe tip and the probe body. The 3300 5 mm system can be equipped with Fluidloc cables to prevent oil and other liquids from leaking from the cable inside into the machine. All 3300 XL proximity sensor systems achieve this performance level, and the probe, extension cable, and proximity sensor are fully interchangeable, requiring no matching or bench calibration of individual components.
Hydrodynamic bearing monitoring: Measures dynamic radial vibration (shaft trajectory characteristics) and static axial position (thrust shaft displacement) within oil-lubricated sliding bearings or sliding bearings.
 
Thrust bearing clearance tracking: Directly mounted inside or between tightly fitted internal thrust bearings to monitor thrust rotor float and prevent severe metal-to-metal contact.
 
Applicable equipment: Suitable for small centrifugal gas compressors, turbochargers, boiler auxiliary feedwater pumps, high-speed gearboxes, and industrial process fans. Part number technical exploded view.
