When used with the 3300 XL proximity sensor and XL extension cable, this system provides an output voltage proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the conductive surface being measured. The system can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) data.
Its primary applications include vibration and position measurement in hydrodynamic bearing machinery, as well as adhesion phasor and velocity measurement. The system provides accurate and stable signal output over a wide temperature range.

75 Ω triaxial, fluoroethylene propylene (FEP) insulated probe cable in the following lengths: 0.5, 1, 2, 5, or 9 meters (1.6, 3.3, 16.4, or 29.5 feet)
Because this probe is configured with a total cable length of 5.0 meters (-50-), it is designed for direct connection to 5-meter-long 3300 series proximity sensors without any intermediate extension cables. If an extension cable is accidentally added to this 5.0-meter probe, the total electrical length will reach 10 meters or more. This will cause the system's eddy current resonant tuning to become inaccurate, completely destroying the calibration and forcing the mechanical protection monitoring system to track inaccurate gap voltages or trigger an "abnormal" fault circuit.
