If an extension cable is accidentally added to this 5.0-meter probe, the total electrical length will reach 10 meters or more. This will cause the system's eddy current resonant tuning to become inaccurate, completely destroying the calibration and forcing the mechanical protection monitoring system to track inaccurate gap voltages or trigger an "abnormal" fault circuit.
