Information

Overview Manuals Principle Industrial Application

Features:

  • PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer Assembly
  • Similar to our 31000/32000 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies
  • Made of Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS), which is an advanced, molded thermoplastic
The assembly offers the same advantages and features as the 31000 and 32000 housings for accessing and externally adjusting proximity probes. However, the housing cover of the PROXPAC XL Assembly also contains its own 3300 XL Proximitor sensor.

This design makes the PROXPAC XL Assembly a completely self-contained proximity probe system, and eliminates the need for an extension cable between the probe and its associated Proximitor sensor. It also eliminates the need for a separate Proximitor housing, as the field wiring connects directly between the monitors and PROXPAC XL Assemblies.

The 330881-28-00-150-03-02 Bently Nevada PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The PROXPAC XL housing is made of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), an advanced molding thermoplastic material. This material replaces the steel and aluminum used in previous housings in the Bently Nevada product line. Furthermore, glass fiber and conductive fibers are added to the PPS to enhance housing strength and more effectively dissipate static charge. The PROXPAC XL housing meets Type 4X and IP66 protection ratings, providing extra protection in harsh environments.
This component is primarily used for equipment condition monitoring in heavy industrial environments, especially suitable for situations where external extension cables are inconvenient or vulnerable.

1. Rotating Machinery Protection: Used to monitor the vibration and position of mechanical equipment employing hydrodynamic bearings, such as large pumps, motors, and fans.
2. Harsh Environments: With an IP66 and 4X enclosure protection rating, it is ideal for offshore platforms, chemical plants, and high-humidity or corrosive environments.
3. Axial and Radial Monitoring: Measures radial vibration (dynamic movement of the shaft) and axial position (thrust) to prevent catastrophic mechanical failures.
4. Key Phasor and Rotational Speed Sensing: Can be used as a key phasor reference to provide a time signal for vibration analysis or for measuring rotational speed.
