MC-TAOY52 provides fixed screw terminations for sixteen Honeywell PAOY22 analog output circuits. The coated assembly supports the documented redundant arrangement and standby-manual connection, with 4-20 mA operation specified for the complete processor/FTA combination.
MC-TAOY52 is the coated Honeywell field termination assembly for sixteen PAOY22 analog output circuits. It uses nonremovable screw terminals and provides the standby-manual connection listed in the ordering table. The compatible processor/FTA arrangement produces normal 4-20 mA outputs; its directly settable range also includes zero and 2.9-21.1 mA. Those extended settings and the maximum current limit should not be confused with the normal operating range accepted by a field receiver.
The manufacturer specifies a 750-ohm maximum resistive load at 20 mA with the nominal 24 V supply reduced to 20 V. The same table gives a 4 ms settling time to 98% of final value and a maximum 20 ms zero-current gap during redundant failover. Confirm the receiving valve or actuator response to the configured transfer. The 307.3 by 120.65 mm size-B board also requires room for field wiring and the installed standby-manual and processor connections.
TAOY52 includes the standby-manual connection in the manufacturer ordering table. Record the actual manual-control station, its cable and the plant transfer procedure before service. The FTA listing does not imply that a station or its associated accessories are included with the replacement board.
The documented load limit is 750 ohms at 20 mA with the supply at 20 V, corresponding to 15 V output compliance. Include the receiver and wiring resistance in the check. Do not assume the same load allowance remains valid outside the stated supply and current conditions.
Honeywell specifies a gap at zero current of no more than 20 ms during redundant failover. Check that the installed processor pair and receiver behavior match the intended control strategy. This figure is a transfer characteristic, not the normal output update interval.
Before changing the FTA, identify all sixteen loop assignments and trace the installed standby-manual connection. Preserve the field polarity and approved shielding as well as the processor cable destinations. TAOY52 and TAOY53 differ in manual-support provision, so terminal similarity is not sufficient evidence of interchangeability. Verify the actual assembly and configured redundancy against the cabinet drawings.
Calculate the total receiver and conductor resistance for the specified output current and lowest applicable supply condition. Check the published 750-ohm load limit and the receiving equipment limits rather than using the maximum output current as a normal command. Commission the affected loops under the site procedure, including any installed manual-transfer and redundant-failover functions.
