Key Applications in Trusted Systems
Communication and Connectivity Ports
Features:
- Processor Interface Adaptor Module (MODBUS Master)
- Fault/fail connections for Active and Standby Processors
- Easy installation (connects directly to the rear of the Controller Chassis)
The Adapter provides easy access to the communications ports of the Trusted Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) Processor (T8110B & T8111) in the Controller Chassis for the Distributed Control System (DCS) and other links.
The unit is also used to enable a number of extended facilities available on the Trusted TMR Processor including facilities for the reception of IRIG-B time synchronisation signals, enabling the use of Dual (‘enhanced’) Peer to Peer and enabling the Trusted System to become MODBUS Master.
The T8122C ICS Triplex Processor Interface Adaptor Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The T8122C, by handling physical communication, allows the primary trusted TMR processor to focus entirely on executing secure logic loop operations without incurring the overhead of communication processing. It supports local engineering workstation diagnostics, distributed control system (DCS) interface options, and dual “enhanced” point-to-point messaging secure loops.
The T8122C provides hardware connection points for extending critical security networks:
Configurable Serial Link: Two RS422/RS485 channels, field-configurable in 2-wire or 4-wire topologies. These channels are typically used for data exchange between Modbus masters or slaves.
Standard Serial Link: One RS422/RS485 2-wire connection, primarily for direct infrastructure monitoring.
Time Synchronization: Integrated port accepts IRIG-B122 and IRIG-B002 timing streams to maintain uniform clock synchronization for the System-Level Event Sequence (SOE) recorder.
Hardware Monitoring Interlock: Hardwired terminal loops for primary/standby power supply (PSU) shutdown diagnostics and fault/failure relay tracking.
