Product Information:

The ICS Triplex T9803 is a 16-channel, three-modular redundancy (TMR) digital input terminal block (TA). Unlike its predecessor, the T9802, which used a dual-channel (1oo2) architecture, the T9803 employs a 2oo3 (three-to-two) voting logic topology, designed for applications requiring the highest availability and security. It is IEC 61508 certified for use in SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level 3) systems.

Each channel is equipped with a field-tolerant fuse that can be replaced without disassembly or damage, and features transient overvoltage protection. It offers excellent fault tolerance and high isolation against explosion, perfectly routing and distributing input signals to three redundant processors. Even if one or two hardware channels fail, the control system can still make correct and safe decisions through the 2oo3 (three-to-two) mechanism without interrupting operation.

According to a safety bulletin issued by Rockwell Automation, some batches of AADvance terminal assemblies are defective, with some 50mA fuses already blown at the factory. If you encounter "open circuit" or "channel failure" errors immediately before connecting field devices when installing new or remaining T9803 circuit boards, please use a standard multimeter to check the miniature fuses on the circuit board.
