Overview Manuals Principle

Features:

  • I/O Companion Slot Cable Type
  • Trusted I/O Companion Slot Cables
  • I/O Companion Slot, Internal, 40 Channel Input to FTA
This type of Trusted I/O Companion Slot Cable is designed for use with analogue or digital input modules and is suitable for connecting input signals from an internal FTA to the module.

The chassis end of the multi-core cable is fitted with two 96-way type ‘C’ connectors housed in a double-width hood. The other end of the cable is fitted with a 96-way type ‘R’ connector housed in a single-width hood enabling the cable to be connected to an FTA.

The TC-205-02-8M5 ICS Triplex Trusted I/O Companion Slot Cables may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
ICS Triplex TC-205-02-8M5 Trusted I/O Companion Slot Cables Manuals(Datasheets), Link Important Notice: Other accessories, manuals, cables, calibration data, software, etc. are not included with this equipment unless listed in the above stock item description. All prices are shown in USD.
The multi-core cable is stripped back 1.5 m at both ends, then shrouded in nylon Rilgain sheathing. The ends of the sheathing are heated or fitted with over sleeving to help prevent fraying. At both the chassis and remote end, a sheathed braid allows the connector hood to be wired to safety earth. At the remote end, the multi-core screen drain is wired to a green wire to allow connection to screen earth.

Ask our team:

  • What is the defined interconnection function of TC-205-02-8M5 within the Trusted™ I/O companion slot communication architecture?
The TC-205-02-8M5 is an engineered companion slot cable designed to establish deterministic signal and data connectivity between Trusted™ controller modules and distributed I/O chassis. Within the modular safety architecture, the TC-205-02-8M5 enables synchronized data exchange, system state alignment, and redundant communication pathways across an 8.5-meter transmission span.
  • How does the electrical transmission design of TC-205-02-8M5 preserve signal integrity across extended cable distances?
The TC-205-02-8M5 incorporates controlled-impedance conductors and shielded transmission geometry to reduce signal attenuation, timing skew, and electromagnetic interference. Its engineered layout ensures stable high-speed digital communication between companion slots while minimizing cross-talk and maintaining protocol-level integrity.
  • Why is the 8M5 length configuration technically significant for the operational performance of TC-205-02-8M5?
The TC-205-02-8M5 is manufactured with a standardized 8.5-meter length to guarantee predictable propagation delay and impedance characteristics. This calibrated length ensures deterministic signal timing and preserves synchronization accuracy between interconnected Trusted™ modules. Deviations from this specification may introduce latency variation or signal distortion.
  • What conductor structure and shielding architecture enhance electromagnetic compatibility in TC-205-02-8M5?
The TC-205-02-8M5 utilizes multi-core conductors combined with layered shielding technology to suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI) and reduce signal cross-coupling. This structural configuration enhances noise immunity, particularly in environments containing high-frequency switching devices or densely packed control hardware.
  • What electrical performance parameters define the operational limits of TC-205-02-8M5?
The TC-205-02-8M5 is engineered with defined voltage ratings, controlled impedance values, and calibrated signal propagation characteristics. These parameters ensure that transmitted digital signals maintain amplitude stability and timing accuracy necessary for secure companion slot communication.
  • Why is adherence to installation routing guidelines critical for maintaining performance stability of TC-205-02-8M5?
The TC-205-02-8M5 must be installed with appropriate bend radius control and strain relief to prevent mechanical deformation of internal conductors. Improper routing may alter impedance characteristics or induce structural stress, potentially affecting signal transmission stability and long-term integrity.
