The SST module requires no ladder logic programming, saving you time. This configuration was created using Windows Engineering Console software, which connects via RLL (Remote Link Library) functionality, allowing remote access to the SST module for configuration and diagnostics, and is implemented using the Rockwell network architecture (Ethernet/ControlNet/DeviceNet).

The SST PB3 module comes with an Additional Profile (AOP) for easy integration into a ControlLogix system using RSLogix 5000 software. Data transfer from the SST module to the ControlLogix processor supports two modes: "Direct Mode," which allows PROFIBUS data to be mapped to the I/O processor image (496 input bytes/496 output bytes); and "Paging Mode," which allows access to 1984 input bytes and 1968 output bytes of PROFIBUS data from a user-defined data space in the Logix CPU memory.
