Features:
- Modbus Plus RJ45 cable, 3.05 m
- Engineered exclusively for standard Modbus Plus high-speed industrial serial buses
- Terminates on one side with a heavy-duty RJ45 male connector featuring an integrated industrial strain-relief design
The Schneider Electric 170MCI02120 cable is designed for integration into Modbus Plus communication systems. This 3-meter cable ensures reliable data transmission. A single RJ45 male connector provides a simple connection interface. Weighing only 160 grams, this lightweight and durable cable is suitable for a variety of applications.
Its operating temperature range is 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, allowing it to adapt flexibly to various environments. The cable can operate stably in environments with relative humidity up to 80% without condensation, which is crucial for maintaining performance and extending service life. Furthermore, it meets storage requirements under similar humidity conditions. For installations in high-altitude areas, this cable operates stably without derating in environments below 1000 meters, ensuring stable operation in various locations.
The 170MCI02120 Schneider Electric Modbus Plus RJ45 cable may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 140MCI02120 boasts broad ecosystem compatibility, connecting to multiple generations of Schneider Electric and Modicon control hardware:
1.Modicon Momentum: Enables distributed block I/O when used with Momentum adapters.
2.Modicon Quantum and Premium Platforms: Connects primary high-availability processor chassis to a wider facility network.
3.Adventys Set-Top Box Solutions: Integrates distributed, slice-based modular I/O modules.
4.Magnis XBT: Bridges operator interfaces/human-machine interfaces (HMIs) directly to local point-to-point data loops.
Early versions of this cable had some issues, such as sharp bends near the terminals causing internal conductor twisting and resulting in intermittent communication interruptions. Schneider Electric addressed these problems by upgrading its product line, using a thicker insulation sheath that tightly wraps around the RJ45 sheath to prevent conductor tangling. As legacy factories transition from Modbus Plus to modern industrial Ethernet (Modbus TCP/PROFINET), the 140MCI02120 cable has passed its official commercial discontinuation date. Today, it is highly sought after as a critical MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operation) spare part for maintaining existing heavy machinery communication lines.
