The 6ES7331-7KF02-0AB0 is an 8-channel analog input module from the Siemens S7-300 series, supporting voltage, current, resistance, and temperature measurements. It is widely used in various industrial signal acquisition scenarios. Each channel group is independently programmable and features comprehensive diagnostic and limit monitoring functions, providing both diagnostic interrupts and high flexibility.
During operation, the input analog signal is processed by the measurement circuit and then converted into a digital signal by an analog-to-digital converter (A/D converter). The generated digital signal is transmitted to the backplane bus via optical isolation for process control by the main control CPU.

Setting the Range Module:
Before inserting the module into the S7-300 rail or ET 200M distributed rack, the position of the plastic range module (measurement range coding key) located on the left side of the module housing must be manually adjusted. The 8 channels are divided into 4 pairs (channels 0/1, 2/3, 4/5, and 6/7). Each group of channels has its own dedicated coding key, which must be removed, rotated, and reinserted to match your electrical sensor type:
Position A: Voltage measurement (±80 mV to ±1 V), thermocouple.
Position B: Voltage measurement (±2.5 V to ±10 V).
Position C: Four-wire current transmitter/external power supply current input.
Position D: Two-wire current transmitter (the module provides loop power to the sensor).
Note: If the channel group is programmed as "current" in the software, but the mechanical key is set to "voltage" (position B), the PLC will read an error value (32767 overflow) and may flag an SF hardware diagnostic error.
