The Allen-Bradley 1503VC-BMC4 is an IntelliVAC vacuum contactor control module manufactured by Rockwell Automation, specifically designed for controlling the Bulletin 1502 series medium-voltage vacuum contactors.
As a core control component for medium-voltage motor control centers or medium-voltage frequency converters, this module features a universal input voltage range, making it flexible for various industrial power environments. Its key features include consistent contactor engagement time to ensure synchronization accuracy, and support for configurable release delay times (50ms to 240ms) to optimize coordination with upstream power supply fuses.
The 1503VC-BMC4 Allen Bradley IntelliVAC Contactor Control Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

This module uses microprocessor logic for precise current and voltage monitoring: it receives switching commands from the control system and precisely controls the excitation current of the contactor coil through a built-in algorithm to achieve smooth engagement. During operation, the module continuously monitors the input voltage status. When brief voltage fluctuations occur, the energy stored in internal or external capacitors will keep the contactor closed (i.e., undervoltage ride-through). If a serious fault or power outage is detected, the module will perform controlled release according to the preset logic of the DIP switch, thereby ensuring maximum system continuity under safe conditions.
- Motor Starters and Feeder Control: Precisely controls the timing and operation of vacuum contactors for starting large industrial motors or distributing power to high-voltage feeders.
- Contactor Management: Provides electrical holding and mechanical locking controls for Type 1502 contactors (400A and 800A models).
- OEM Integration: Typically sold as a standalone component to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for integration into third-party medium-voltage control panels.
