Allen-Bradley 1756-DHRIO is a one-slot ControlLogix communication module for Data Highway Plus and Remote I/O networks.
Its two independently selectable channels support 57.6, 115.2 or 230.4 Kbit/s operation, up to 32 connections and Remote I/O scanner functions.
The module draws 850 mA at 5.1 V DC, dissipates 4.5 W and requires compatible ControlLogix chassis, power supply, cabling and network configuration.
The Allen-Bradley 1756-DHRIO bridges legacy Data Highway Plus and Remote I/O networks into a ControlLogix chassis. DH+ channels support controller and programming messages, while Remote I/O mode allows the module to scan digital and block-transfer data from compatible remote devices.
Both communication ports are configured individually for the required network role and rate. A correct replacement must preserve channel mode, rack addressing, baud rate, cabling and message paths as well as the ControlLogix chassis configuration.
Use the module when an installed ControlLogix system must maintain communications with supported DH+ or Remote I/O equipment.
Channel A and Channel B settings must match the physical network, node addressing and existing controller message paths.
Because modern EtherNet/IP modules do not directly reproduce DH+ or Remote I/O functions, convert the network only through a controlled application-specific migration.
Obsolete/Discontinued by OEM
Rockwell Automation identifies this module as discontinued; migration uses a supported ControlLogix EtherNet/IP communication module such as 1756-EN2TR together with an engineered legacy-network conversion strategy rather than a drop-in replacement.
Moore Automated supplies high-quality Allen-Bradley 1756-DHRIO replacement modules and spare parts for verified industrial maintenance requirements.
Our controlled sourcing and replacement solutions help users restore compatible hardware efficiently and reduce unplanned downtime.
