Features:
- Discrete input module that is part of Flex I/O platform
- This module has a FlexBus current draw of 40 mA @ 5V DC
- This module features Thirty-two (32) current sourcing input channels accepting 24 VDC nominal voltage input
The Allen-Bradley 1794-IV32 is part of the Flex I/O platform and is typically used to implement distributed I/O topologies. This module is a high-density discrete input module with 32 current-source input channels. Designed to receive a nominal input signal voltage of 24VDC, it can integrate discrete input signals from switches, auxiliary contacts, sensors, and other similar binary-operated devices.
The 1794-IV32 is installed with Flex I/O components and uses the Flex I/O communication adapter as a connector module. Data in the 1794-IV32's local memory is transferred via the Flex I/O bus and then forwarded to the host controller via the communication bus. The FlexBus consumes 40mA of current at 5VDC. Its minimum on-state voltage is 19.2VDC, and its maximum on-state voltage is 31.2VDC.
The 1794-IV32 Allen Bradley Digital Input Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

This module is for indoor use only and should not be used in residential environments. It can withstand Class 2 contamination, Class II overvoltage, and a maximum altitude of 6562 feet (approximately 2000 meters). The Allen-Bradley 1794-IV32 digital FLEX I/O module connects to the chassis ground via a galvanized chromate passivated steel DIN rail and is grounded to the chassis ground. If necessary, the module can be cleaned with a soft, dry, anti-static cloth, but never allow the module to come into contact with water or cleaning agents, especially corrosive ones.
- High-Density Discrete Monitoring: With 32 input points per module, it's ideal for systems requiring a large number of digital connections within a compact space, effectively replacing bulky terminal blocks.
- Distributed I/O System: A core component of the FLEX I/O platform, it allows I/O modules to be placed close to sensors on the machine, reducing cabling costs.
- Source Input Interface: Designed for 24V DC source (NPN) inputs. This module can be used when field devices supply "source" current to it.
- Continuous Operation Environment: Its hot-swappable (RIUP) capability allows module replacement without shutting down the entire system, making it suitable for processes where downtime must be minimized.
