The 3300 Ceramic Capped Probe is a state-of-the-art solution for monitoring machinery in aggressive chemical or high-pressure environments. The alumina cap and 304 stainless steel probe case provide robust protection and increased life for applications in anhydrous ammonia or other extreme pH environments. The ceramic capped probe is compatible with the 3300 Proximitor Sensor and extension cable.
The 146054, 146055, and 164517 probes were developed for applications that expose only the front of the probe case assembly to corrosive gases and liquids. These ceramic probe assemblies prevent corrosive gases and liquids from entering the front end of the probe case.
The 146054-14-10-02-00 Bently Nevada 3300 Ceramic Capped Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

1.Ammonia Synthesis and Refrigeration: Designed to withstand anhydrous ammonia (liquid ammonia), which would damage standard probes. Widely used in fertilizer plants and large industrial refrigeration systems.
2.Petrochemicals and Refining: Deployed in process loops handling corrosive chemical media, acidic gases, or high-pressure hydrocarbons, environments where standard fiberglass probe tips would be damaged.
3.High-Pressure Process Monitoring: Used in sealed systems at pressures up to 34 bar (500 psi) to prevent chemical leakage through the machine housing.
4.Centrifugal and Reciprocating Compressors: Monitors shaft vibration and axial thrust position in high-pressure gas process compressors.
5.Industrial Pumps: Tracks rotor dynamics and bearing wear in high-pressure chemical transfer pumps or boiler feed pumps.
6.Steam and Gas Turbines: Measures radial vibration and thermal expansion to prevent catastrophic rotor-stator contact.
7.Complete Sensor Loop: This probe operates as part of a three-piece system. It connects via a ClickLoc connector to a 3300 XL extension cable, which then connects to a 3300 XL proximity sensor.
8.Control Room Monitoring: Proximity sensors convert physical gaps into voltage signals (typically 7.87 V/mm), sending real-time data to the Bently Nevada 3500 monitoring system or the factory DCS/PLC network to automatically shut down the machine (trip protection) during hazardous vibration events.
