When proximity probes need to be mounted inside a machine housing, the 31000/32000 type proximity probe housing assembly is recommended. This assembly is typically used for radially mounted sensors, whether for vibration or key phase measurements. Using a proximity probe housing allows for easy external access to the proximity probe and its extension cables, enabling gap adjustment or probe replacement without disassembling the machine.
The 31000/32000 type proximity probe housing assembly is made of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), an advanced high-strength thermoplastic material with excellent corrosion resistance. Other components of the housing assembly are made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel. Versions of this housing assembly pre-installed with the 3300 XL type proximity probe and various conduit fittings are available by order.

Antistatic Body: The body is molded from glass fiber reinforced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and incorporates conductive fibers to safely eliminate static charges in industrial environments.
Corrosion Resistance: All inner and outer sleeve hardware, fasteners, and tethers are forged from high-durability AISI 303 and AISI 304 stainless steel.
Protection Rating: IP66 and NEMA 4X certified, internal electronics are completely unaffected by atmospheric dust, corrosive gases, humid environments, and high-pressure water spray.
Fine Gap Adjustment: Equipped with an adjustable internal sleeve mechanism with an inlet tolerance of ±13 mm (±0.5 inches), allowing for precise mechanical calibration of the probe shaft gap voltage.
API Standard: Complies with all operating guidelines of the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 Mechanical Protection Systems specification.
