Critical System Length Installation
Features:
- 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes
- 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System
- 330102 3300 XL 8 mm Probe, 3/8-24 UNF thread, with armor
The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.
Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable4 with other nonXL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.
The 330102-00-31-05-02-00 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Important Notice: Other accessories, manuals, cables, calibration data, software, etc. are not included with this equipment unless listed in the above stock item description. All prices are shown in USD.
Linear Sensing Range: Accurately detects minute movements within a 2.0 mm (80 mil) linear displacement range.
System Scale Factor/Sensitivity: Provides a standard diagnostic output of 200 mV/mil (7.87 V/mm) when used with the compatible 3300 XL proximity sensor.
Physical Components Material: The probe tip is made of high-density polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), and the threaded housing is made of robust AISI 304 stainless steel.
Thermal Limits: Rated to withstand extreme internal temperatures from -35°C to +200°C (-31°F to +392°F).
Because the total cable length for this specific probe configuration is only 0.5 meters (-05-), it cannot be directly connected to the instrument cabinet. The included 4.5-meter extension cable must be used to achieve the precise 5.0-meter total system length required for the standard 5-meter Proximitor sensor.
Using a 9.0-meter extension cable or a 9-meter Proximitor sensor will result in an electrical length mismatch, completely disrupting eddy current calibration and causing the system to report incorrect gap values or trigger an "abnormal" malfunction.
