Product Information:

The 84661-18 is a standard stainless steel armored dual-core piezoelectric velocity sensor interconnect cable manufactured by Bently Nevada. It is primarily used as a dedicated signal transmission channel to transmit absolute housing vibration velocity signals acquired by the 330500 Velomitor piezoelectric velocity sensor or the 330750/330752 High Temperature Velomitor System (HTVS) completely and without loss to downstream mechanical protection monitoring instruments or control systems.

The Bently Nevada 84661-18 is widely used for online monitoring and over-limit protection of housing vibration in fans, pumps, medium-speed gearboxes, and various industrial rotating machinery. This model uses a clear numerical code to define its hardware configuration: the prefix 84661 indicates that it is a stainless steel armored twisted-pair shielded cable; the suffix -18 indicates that the cable length is fixed at 18 feet (approximately 5.5 meters).

The Bently Nevada 84661-18 cable features differentiated and highly compatible interfaces at both ends: one end is a two-hole moisture-proof female connector for a tight connection to the airtight plug on top of the speed sensor, isolating it from external moisture; the other end is pre-installed and crimped with a ring terminal for easy direct connection to the monitoring cabinet's wiring terminals.

Features:

  • Standard Armored Interconnect Cable
  • 330505 Low Frequency Velocity Sensor
  • Bently Nevada Machinery Condition Monitoring
The Bently Nevada 330505 Low Frequency Velocity Sensor is specifically designed for hydroelectric turbines where slow rotating speeds require detecting a low signal to noise ratio. It detects vibration of the stator core, stator frame, and bearing housing supports. It is designed to provide early warning of pending machinery problems and to help you diagnose problems before they become serious.

The sensor measures absolute vibration within the 0.5Hz to 1.0kHz range. Its two-wire design uses moving-coil technology and embedded signal conditioning circuitry to provide a voltage output directly proportional to the vibration velocity. Stator core and stator frame vibration can cause fretting and damage to the winding insulation. To detect these problems before serious damage occurs, mount a 330505 sensor on the outer diameter of the stator core and frame.

The 84661-18 Bently Nevada Standard Armored Interconnect Cable may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

This protective hardware is designed for harsh industrial environments, excelling in both physical protection and signal integrity: its internal core consists of a shielding layer and 22 AWG (0.382 mm²) twisted-pair cable, completely encased in a robust stainless steel armored flexible tube. This structure allows it to withstand the mechanical and physical stresses, sharp scratches, and heavy oil corrosion of industrial environments within a wide operating temperature range of -29°C to 121°C. Simultaneously, the highly efficient shielding layer effectively blocks strong electromagnetic interference (EMI) generated by high-voltage cables and frequency converters within the factory, ensuring the accuracy and stability of dynamic vibration signals.
