      The Honeywell FC-PSU-240516 (specifically version V1.1) is a highly reliable, fault-tolerant power supply unit (PSU). It is designed for Honeywell Safety Manager (SM) and traditional Fail-Safe Controller (FSC) automation systems. This module is responsible for reducing the main control cabinet power supply voltage to the safe logic levels required by the central processing architecture.

      The module features a robust output current capability of up to 16A and integrates a high-voltage electrical isolation barrier with an input-output isolation voltage ≥2.5 kVdc and an input-to-case isolation voltage ≥1 kVdc.

      Furthermore, it integrates two completely independent overvoltage protection (OVP) circuits, enabling it to meet stringent industrial intrinsic safety standards without the need for periodic maintenance and testing. This ensures high continuity and fail-safe operation of high-risk, critical control systems in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, and power generation.

      The PSU-240516 power supply unit converts incoming 24 V DC to (local) 5 V DC and (redundant) 5 V DC, and is located in the Controller chassis. The (local) 5 V DC output (5V1 resp. 5V2) supplies 5 V to its Control Processor and the redundant IO modules of its Control Processor. The (redundant) 5 V DC output (5VR) shares the 5 V load of the nonredundant IO modules with the PSU-240516 of the other Control Processor.

      All 5 V supply signals are available on the WdPx connectors of the Controller backplane. The PSU-240516 module has two independent overvoltage protection circuits. This makes the module suitable for safe applications without maintenance checks on regular intervals.

      The FC-PSU-240516 V1.1 Honeywell Power Supply Unit may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
