Overview Manuals Main Features Trusted Peer-to-Peer (P2P)

Features:

  • Peer-to-Peer Communications Software Package
  • Designation for the Trusted Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Communication Software Package
  • Developed for the Trusted 8000 Series Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) safety and critical control systems
Peer to peer communications allows up to 40 Trusted controllers to communicate and share information. Communications between systems is accomplished using communications interface modules housed in the controller assembly.

Each controller must be fitted with a Processor Interface Adapter (T812X or T813X). Peer to peer communications employs Ethernet and User Datagram Protocol (UDP) in a multi-drop bus structure. Communications are on a deterministic master/slave basis with a single master per network. Peer to peer communications are TÜV approved for SIL 3 applications.

The T8017 ICS Triplex Peer-to-Peer Communications Software Package may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
ICS Triplex T8017 Peer-to-Peer Communications Software Package Manual(Datasheets), Link Important Notice: Other accessories, manuals, cables, calibration data, software, etc. are not included with this equipment unless listed in the above stock item description. All prices are shown in USD.
A peer network consists of one or more Ethernet networks. A network can use up to eight physical Ethernet networks to provide redundant data paths via up to eight separate physical routes (four communications interface modules each with two Ethernet ports). The communications interface module may be configured as master or slave per network, but not both simultaneously. The network will automatically handle routing and selection of redundant data, avoiding the need to handle data selection and voting in the application.
Official Software Definition:

The primary purpose of the Trusted Peer-to-Peer (P2P) T8017 software package is to connect multiple isolated, trusted TMR controller chassis on industrial networks while maintaining functional safety integrity.
Safety-Critical Data Exchange: Supports safety interlocks, global emergency shutdown (ESD), and shared boundary states between different processing units.
TÜV Certification: Fully certified with the Trusted Version Platform Suite (TPSP) (e.g., compliant with SIL 3 safety requirements).
Hardware Interface: Operates via a physical network routing module, most commonly the T8151B/T8151C Communication Interface (CI) module.

Ask our team:

  • What strategic communication responsibilities does the T8017 assume in a trusted and secure control infrastructure?
The T8017 is a high-integrity communication interface module designed to facilitate deterministic data exchange between trusted controllers, I/O subsystems, and monitoring automation networks.
  • How does the T8017 maintain deterministic and fault-tolerant communication in safety-critical environments?
The T8017 employs robust communication management, redundancy support, and advanced error detection mechanisms to ensure uninterrupted and reliable data transmission.
  • Why is the T8017 considered a key component for integrating trusted systems into distributed industrial automation architectures?
The T8017 achieves seamless interoperability between safety systems, distributed control systems, and plant-wide monitoring platforms through a structured communication interface.
  • How does the T8017 maintain communication integrity in industrial environments with high electrical noise?
