The Trusted Communication Interface Adapter T8153 is designed to be connected directly to the rear of a Trusted Communication Interface Module in a Trusted Controller Chassis T8100.

The Assembly provides a communications connection interface to remote systems. Connection between the Assembly and the Trusted Communication Interface module is via a 78+2-way Inverse DIN41612 M-type connector (SK1).

The T8153C ICS Triplex Communication Interface Adaptor Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

If you are replacing or installing a B-series version of the T8151C main front panel communication interface module, Rockwell Automation's product bulletin states that the following hardware version rules must be strictly followed:
 
Hardware Compatibility Requirements: T8151C/B-series modules are fully compatible with the T8153 units listed in Hardware Issues G through X.
 
Legacy Issues (A through F): If your current chassis has legacy T8153 hardware issues A through F, attempting to match it with a newer B-series communication module will trigger a compatibility failure and prevent system message passing.
According to Rockwell Automation's official documentation, the Ethernet cables on the standard T8170 gateway module are incompatible with the layout of the T8153 adapter. While you can force line arbitration to 100BaseT and full-duplex mode for basic operation, Rockwell recommends using a dedicated T8173 gateway adapter when deploying gateway infrastructure.
