Overview Manuals T8231 vs. T8232 Comparison Common Industry Deployments

Features:

  • Power Supply Module
  • Power Pack 24 Vdc 750 W, universal input, 24 Vdc out.
  • Universal wide-range 90–264 Vac (47–63 Hz) for global mains compatibility
The Trusted Power System is a high density flexible power supply designed to convert main line voltages of either 110V or 240Vac. Outputs are either 24Vdc for Trusted product or 28Vdc adjustable field power.

The Trusted Power System consists of a 1U Power Shelf with mechanical support, containing up to three 750W Power Packs. The Power Packs load share in configurations using one or more Power Shelves. Multiple units can be connected for further capacity or redundancy requirements.

The T8231 ICS Triplex Power Supply Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The T8231 is often confused with its sister module, the T8232. While both have the same power consumption, chassis size, and AC input parameters (both 750W), their power distribution capabilities differ:

T8231: Provides a fixed 24V DC output, optimized for in-chassis logic power and native Trusted components.
T8232: Provides a higher 28V DC output, designed for adjustable fieldloop instrumentation and external transmitter loads.
T8231 is typically installed in the main control room or remote instrumentation unit (RIE) in the following locations:

Oil and gas exploration: offshore drilling platforms and floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units;
Refining and petrochemicals: ethylene cracking units, liquefied natural gas receiving terminals, and distillation towers;
Power generation: nuclear power control infrastructure, gas turbine safety trip devices, and steam control systems;
Chemical processing: highly volatile batch reactors and hazardous material storage facilities.
