Core Function & System Architecture
Features:
- 60 completely independent, fused signal paths
- Serves as a core Field Termination Assembly (FTA) companion pack
- Fully configured and modeled within standard ICS Triplex Safety Workbench configurations
The core function of this module is to output highly stable and accurate 4-20 mA or other standardized analog signals in high-risk, critical industrial scenarios, such as Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Emergency Stop Systems (ESD), and Fire and Gas (F&G) monitoring.
It connects to field control valves, servo mechanisms, or electro-hydraulic actuators via dedicated field terminal assemblies (FTAs, typically configured as 60-channel fuse boxes), ensuring absolute safety of valve opening and critical actuators in continuous production industries such as oil, gas, chemical, and large-scale power generation.
The T8903 ICS Triplex Fuse Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Because the T8903 is designed for fault-tolerant, zero-downtime environments, it is commonly used for critical control and safety operations:
Emergency Shutdown (ESD) Systems: Protect critical safety trip devices from physical damage to cables or line faults.
Fire and Gas Detection (F&G) Systems: Provide clean, protected sensor loops for field-installed flame or chemical gas detectors.
Boiler Management System (BMS) Systems: Isolate fuel valve and igniter controls on large utility boilers and furnace assemblies.
The primary function of the T8903 is to provide discrete, independent overcurrent protection for up to 60 independent I/O signal paths.
Physical Circuit Isolation: It isolates individual field instruments (e.g., valves, switches, or solenoids) from the main digital processing module, preventing partial short circuits on a single field line from causing the entire I/O control rack to fail.
TMR Bus Integration: Direct connection via the inter-module bus (IMB) allows for seamless integration with standard Safety Instrumented System (SIS) hardware (e.g., the T8110/T8110B Trusted TMR Processor Module) and dedicated digital or analog I/O modules.
