The ICS Triplex T9401 is a high-integrity, fault-tolerant digital input module designed specifically for Rockwell Automation's AADvance safety systems. As a safety-critical interface card, it acquires field signals from discrete binary devices such as emergency stop buttons, limit switches, and pressure sensors, and safely transmits them to the logic solver.

This module is compatible with AADvance's dedicated passive I/O sockets (e.g., T9300) and various types of terminal blocks (e.g., T9801/T9802/T9803). The ICS Triplex T9401 is a high-performance industrial-grade digital input module in Rockwell Automation's ICS Triplex AADvance controller family. It is designed for high-integrity, high-safety industrial automation systems, such as emergency stop (ESD) systems and fire and gas monitoring (F&G) systems. Its core function is to reliably and safely acquire discrete switch signals (such as emergency stop buttons, limit switches, pressure switches, or level switches) from the production site and convert these physical signals into digital data that the controller can recognize.

The T9401 features high-integrity signal processing and fault diagnosis capabilities. It can monitor the channel status and line integrity of input signals in real time, automatically detecting field circuit faults such as open circuits and short circuits. Furthermore, the module employs a high electrical isolation design between channels, effectively preventing strong electrical interference, power grid surges, or industrial field noise from intruding into the controller's core bus, thereby ensuring the data accuracy and operational continuity of the entire distributed control system (DCS) or safety instrumented system (SIS).
