The ICS Triplex T9481 is a safety-certified analog output module manufactured by Rockwell Automation for the AADvance safety controller system. Because the T9481 operates in a safety-critical loop, you should check the following two different manufacturer anomalies to verify your existing asset inventory:
 
60-Second Manufacturing Calibration Failure (Product Notification 2014-03-002): Modules manufactured between April 2013 and January 2014 (serial numbers 1304 to 1401) were incorrectly internally manufactured at the time of shipment. Affected modules will automatically fail within 60 seconds of power-on. These modules cannot be calibrated in the field and must be returned to Rockwell for factory repair.
 
Low Temperature Current Limitation (Technical Note TN30048-02): In conventional simplex configurations or with reduced redundancy, some T9481 modules cannot drive currents up to 20mA when operating at low ambient panel temperatures (approximately 10°C/50°F) and low loop voltages (approximately 15V). Rockwell recommends manually driving the output to 22mA in a test bench environment to confirm that your module is not affected by this hardware limitation.
