- High-precision 16-bit analog conversion
The ICS Triplex T9482 acts as the "executive commander" in automated control systems. Its core function is to accurately convert the digital control commands calculated within the control system into standard industrial analog signals (such as 4-20mA current signals or ±10V voltage signals) and output them to field terminal devices, such as control valves, servo actuators, frequency converters, and electro-hydraulic servo valves, thereby achieving closed-loop precise control of process variables such as flow, pressure, temperature, or mechanical speed.
The T9482 is a safety/critical control module designed for the petrochemical, thermal power, and process industries, featuring excellent system fault tolerance and safety diagnostics. It supports inter-channel electrical isolation up to 1500V DC, effectively blocking surge backflow in the physical environment and protecting the controller's core bus. Simultaneously, the module integrates robust output loop integrity monitoring functions (e.g., open circuit, disconnection, and external load anomaly diagnosis) and is compatible with both simplex and full-duplex redundant architectures.
The T9482 ICS triplex Analogue Output Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Live Line Monitoring: This module uses independent integrated electronic components to continuously monitor open circuits (excitation line open circuit), short circuits, and abnormal loop voltage limits.
Reverse Current Protection: Built-in protection ensures that back EMF or external magnetic field faults will not flow backwards and damage the logic backplane.
Fault-Safe Design: Embedded internal diagnostics verify component functionality. If the terminal processor locks, the card will always safely power down and shut down its outputs to protect factory equipment.
If you are managing or procuring this specific module, you must verify the following two Rockwell technical bulletins:
1. Volume Spontaneous Shutdown Failure (Product Bulletin 2015-05-001): T9482 modules manufactured between January and March 2014 have an internal assembly defect. Affected module serial numbers begin with T1401, T1402, or T1403. These modules have internal component aging issues that may cause spontaneous failures.
2. Low Current Limit at Low Temperatures (Technical Note TN30048-02): At low temperatures (approximately 10°C / 50°F) and low loop voltages (approximately 15V), certain firmware versions of the T9482 module may struggle to obtain a 20mA analog output signal when running in the control panel.
