The core function of the T9852 is to safely and accurately distribute and route safety control commands output from the AADvance controller to various actuators in the field. It provides eight common-terminal digital output channels, rated for 24V DC operation, for centralized driving of critical safety devices in industrial applications such as relays, solenoid valves, audible and visual alarms, and shut-off valves.

It supports a dual physical topology, allowing two digital output modules to be installed simultaneously on the same terminal component, thereby eliminating the impact of single-point hardware failures on safety functions. Furthermore, the component integrates comprehensive physical fuse protection and safe electrical isolation between channels, effectively preventing surge currents caused by external short circuits, overloads, or other sudden faults from burning out the core control system, ensuring the safety matrix remains continuously available throughout the process.

The T9852 terminal block serves as the physical bridge between field devices (such as solenoid valves, emergency actuators, and trip relays) and the central [T9451 AADvance Digital Output Module] (1.1.1, 1.3.3). As part of the SIL-rated AADvance platform, it accepts two independent 24V DC power supplies to maintain system availability and fault tolerance. If one of the field power lines fails, the backup parallel power supply can seamlessly carry the safe load without causing process tripping.
The T9852, based on a voting fault-tolerant mechanism and parallel routing technology, is used for physical bus signals in safety systems. When the AADvance processing unit sends control information, digital signals are transmitted in parallel through the central backplane physical bus to redundant output modules inserted into the T9852.
The printed circuit board (PCB) inside this terminal assembly connects the hardware contacts or transistor outputs of the two redundant modules in parallel or with specific logic combinations (e.g., a 1oo2D or 2oo3 voting structure consisting of multiple modules).
When one output module fails, the other module can seamlessly take over the drive current through the T9852's dual communication and common-terminal circuitry, ensuring an uninterrupted 24V DC excitation current to the actuator, thereby enabling interference-free continuous operation of industrial equipment or the execution of predetermined safety actions.
