Functional Safety & System Integration
Certifications & Standards
Features:
- 8 analog output channels
- 24 VDC nominal (functional backplane input range of 18 VDC to 32 VDC)
- Its robust electrical isolation enables it to withstand a maximum voltage of up to ±1.5 kVDC for 1 minute to protect the internal safety processor from field voltage spikes
The core function of the T9882 is to distribute control commands from the AADvance system to eight independent analog channels in the field. It is seamlessly compatible with voltage and standard 4–20mA current signals, enabling high-precision driving and precise regulation of critical field devices such as proportional control valves, frequency converters, servo mechanisms, and electric actuators.
Compared to single-rack components, the most significant feature of the T9882 is its robust dual hardware fault tolerance and high isolation between channels. Its dual-module plug-in architecture allows two T9482 analog output modules to be connected to the same terminal component simultaneously, thereby physically eliminating the risk of single point of failure and preventing control loop interruptions due to the failure of a single output card.
The T9882 ICS triplex Analog Output FTA Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The T9882 is the physical wiring basis for connecting two T9481 or T9482 AADvance analog output modules. Evaluated and certified by TÜV Rheinland, it meets the SIL 3 safety level requirements of IEC 61508 and is widely used in high-risk environments such as oil and gas emergency shutdown (ESD) systems, fire and gas (F&G) systems, and critical petrochemical process control.
IEC 61508: Formal certification for safety-critical applications, with a maximum safety level of SIL 3, employing a dual (redundant) hardware architecture loop.
IEC 61511-1: Validated for use in safety instrumented systems designed specifically for process industry automation applications.
EN 50156-1: Approved for integration into electrical control equipment for industrial furnaces and auxiliary system heaters.
EN 54-2: Approved for use in critical fire detection, suppression, and alarm control systems.
ATEX/UKEX: Explosive atmosphere certification compliant with EU Directive 2014/34/EU.
IECEx Certification System: Certified by the international IECEx certification system (Certificate: IECEx UL 12.0032X).
UL/cUL HazLoc: Certified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for Class I, Zone 2, A, B, C, and D hazardous locations.
EN 61131-2:2007: Standard product specification conforming to programmable logic controllers, electrical safety standards and stringent A/B area electromagnetic compatibility testing.
