The ICS Triplex TC-301-02-2M0 (part of the Rockwell Automation/ICS Triplex Trusted Systems product line) is a local expansion/communication connectivity component designed specifically for triple modular redundancy (TMR) safety systems. As a critical hardware interconnect hub, it primarily establishes a high-bandwidth, zero-latency physical path between the Trusted main controller rack and the local expansion chassis.
The "2M0" in the model name indicates that it is equipped with a 2.0-meter factory-grade shielded cable, designed to provide absolutely reliable physical-level transmission support for safety-critical data within the system, ensuring data transmission stability even in harsh environments such as strong electromagnetic interference and industrial noise. Functionally, this component offers extremely stringent fault-tolerant communication guarantees and system scalability.
The TC-301-02-2M0 ICS Triplex Local Expansion Cable, 2m may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

1.Triple Module Redundancy (TMR): This module contains three physically isolated independent electronic paths (channels A, B, and C). Each channel independently receives control data from the main processor (MP).
2.Patented Four-Way Voting Circuit: Based on a physical 2oo3 voting mechanism using series-parallel paths. Even if any two channels (e.g., A+B, B+C, or A+C) are closed, power can still be supplied to the field load, ensuring extremely high safety and availability.
3.Output Voter Diagnostics (OVD): This module performs automatic OVD tests periodically in the background, capable of detecting "stuck" or "blocked" faults in all switches or drive circuits within a channel within 500 milliseconds, ensuring that faults are not hidden.
4.Diagnostic Pulse Duration: The typical voltage pulse duration during diagnostics is 500 microseconds, with a maximum of 2 milliseconds, ensuring that loop checks are completed without affecting the normal operation of field devices (e.g., solenoid valves and relays).
The operating principle of the ICS Triplex TC-301-02-2M0 is closely related to its three-channel independent mapping and physical shielding isolation technology. When the trusted master controller processes field safety logic, three completely independent TMR processor channels (A, B, and C) synchronously generate the corresponding control and synchronization data.
This component uses custom-designed, high-reliability industrial connectors (such as specially designed multi-pin Type-C or LEMO connectors) to seamlessly separate these three parallel data streams into independent data pairs, which are then transmitted via dedicated shielded twisted-pair cables, physically preventing crosstalk between channels.
During high-speed transmission, the interface circuitry at the expansion rack end performs real-time clock synchronization and verification of the three data streams, ensuring that redundant data packets arrive at the expansion I/O module at the same high speed, thereby achieving high-fault-tolerant, low-latency digital signal synchronization relay between master and slave racks.
