The ICS Triplex TC-301-02-2M5 (belonging to Rockwell Automation's ICS Triplex Trusted Core series) is a dedicated local extension/dedicated communication connectivity component designed for Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) safety systems. It is primarily used to establish a high-bandwidth, zero-latency physical connection between Trusted TMR extension processors (such as the T8310) and extension interface adapter units (such as the T8312).
At the functional level, the TC-301-02-2M5 provides fault-tolerant data relay and link diagnostics, meeting the highest industrial safety standards. This component uses a dedicated 96-pin Type-C connector (with a double-width protective housing and grounding braid) on one end and a high-precision 12-pin LEMO industrial connector on the other, achieving plug-and-play functionality and extremely high reliability through customized hardware interconnects. At the underlying level, the component is fully optimized for the processor's three-channel redundant data streams, supporting microsecond-level data throughput and comprehensive fault isolation and detection.

This custom-designed cable assembly extends a high-integrity security backplane between adjacent chassis configurations:
Chassis Side A (Processor Side): Features a 96-pin Type-C connector housed within a double-width protective shield. This connector locks onto a Trusted TMR Expansion Processor Module (T8310) within the local expansion rack.
Chassis Side B (Interface Side): Features an industrial-grade 12-pin LEMO round plug. This plug securely connects to a Trusted Expansion Interface Adapter Unit (T8312) on the main controller rack.
By providing a shielded, high-bandwidth data connection between the T8312 and T8310 modules, this cable enables seamless communication between the main processor and secondary I/O slots without introducing timing delays or compromising TMR “two-out-of-three” voting integrity.
