Features:
- High-integrity, 4.5-meter Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) Local Expansion Cable
- Trusted TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) safety instrumented system platform
- Specifies a precise, factory-molded cable length of 4.5 meters (approximately 14.8 feet)
The ICS Triplex TC-301-02-4M5 (one of Rockwell Automation's ICS Triplex Trusted Core Security products) is an advanced local extension/dedicated communication connection cable assembly designed for Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) security systems. As a critical hardware-level interconnect hub in the overall control rack architecture, it is primarily used to establish a high-speed, zero-latency physical communication path between trusted TMR processors (such as the T8110 or extended processor T8310) and remote extension interface adapter racks.
At the functional level, the TC-301-02-4M5 component provides fault-tolerant data relay and all-weather link diagnostics, meeting the highest Industrial Safety Integrity Level (SIL 3) certification. One end of the cable features a 96-pin Type-C industrial connector with a heavy-duty metal housing and high-density grounding protection; the other end features a high-durability 12-pin LEMO locking plug, fully compatible with Trusted Systems' unique three-channel redundant data stream. This component offers superior physical immunity, extremely low signal attenuation, and microsecond-level data throughput, enabling comprehensive diagnosis of link disconnections and short-circuit faults.
The TC-301-02-4M5 ICS Triplex Local Expansion Cable, 4.5m may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

In safety-critical process architectures (such as Emergency Shutdown (ESD) or Fire and Gas (F&G) networks), local expansion chassis are required when the main controller chassis lacks sufficient local backplane I/O module slots. The TC-301-02-4M5 serves as a high-load data connection between these units. It outputs high-speed backplane communication data from the T8312 Expander Interface Adapter (XIA) located on the main chassis and transmits it directly to the T8310 Expander Processor Module (XPM) mounted in the auxiliary expansion rack.
Expansion module side: Employs a 96-pin C-type female connector with a robust, double-width heavy-duty protective cover and integrated grounding wire. This connector securely snaps into the T8310 expansion processor. Interface adapter side: Features a highly reliable 12-pin LEMO precision push-pull round plug that locks onto the T8312 port and offers excellent resistance to industrial cabinet vibration. System integrators specifically chose the 4.5-meter length when building distributed control configurations for use when mounting expansion racks on adjacent cabinet panels or separating racks via cable tray gaps.
