The ICS Triplex TC-301-02-6M5 (one of Rockwell Automation's Trusted Core Security Series products) is an advanced local expansion and communication cable assembly designed for Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) critical control systems. Serving as the lifeline of the system hardware link, this component is designed to establish a stable, zero-latency, high-speed physical-level digital signal path, connecting trusted TMR processors (such as the T8110 or the T8310 expansion processor) and remote expansion rack interface adapters.
This component is designed to meet the highest industrial safety integrity levels (such as SIL 3), providing superior fault-tolerant data relay and real-time physical link diagnostics. Its cable ends utilize high-density 96-pin Type-C universal industrial connectors (with dustproof, rugged metal housings) and high-precision locking 12-pin LEMO connectors, ensuring plug-and-play functionality and extremely reliable connectivity, while fully supporting the Trusted system's unique A, B, and C channel redundancy for high-speed data throughput.

In industrial safety systems such as Emergency Stop (ESD) or Fire and Gas (F&G) networks, local expansion racks are required when input/output slot demands exceed the capacity of a single controller chassis. The TC-301-02-6M5 serves as a high-speed data backbone connecting these independent racks. It outputs critical fault-tolerant backplane signals directly from the T8312 Expander Interface Adapter (XIA) module located in the main control chassis and transmits data to the T8310 Expander Processor Module (XPM) mounted in the auxiliary expansion rack.
This 6.5-meter cable is ideal for automation engineers building distributed control topologies, especially when expansion racks cannot be installed within the same cabinet panel. Its length is sufficient to safely pass through overhead cable trays or connect adjacent independent control panels.
1.Chassis A Connector: Features a robust 96-pin C-type female connector encased in a double-width protective shield and includes a structural ground wire. This connector locks directly onto the front panel of the T8310 expansion processor.
2.Chassis B Connector: Employs a high-integrity 12-pin LEMO precision push-pull round metal plug. The connection established at the adapter port is unaffected by industrial cabinet vibrations or accidental physical contact.
The Cat 6 Plus conductor shield protects against attenuation or electromagnetic interference (EMI) over the expansion distance, ensuring the system maintains its stringent SIL 3 functional safety voting loop timing requirements.
