The ICS Triplex TC-302-02-4M0 (part of Rockwell Automation's ICS Triplex Trusted Core Security Series) is an advanced communication/remote extension interface cable assembly designed for Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) critical control systems. As a key hardware link for building remote distributed rack networks, it is primarily used to precisely connect a designated location on the Trusted Extender Interface Adapter Unit (T8312) to the Trusted Fiber Optic Transceiver Unit (T8314).
At the functional level, the TC-302-02-4M0 component provides highly fault-tolerant data link protection and stringent interference immunity, meeting the highest industrial safety integrity level (e.g., SIL 3). The cable features a Cat 5 independent shield and an ultra-low smoke halogen-free (LSZH) sheath (compliant with TC-302-02 specifications), specifically developed for industrial high electromagnetic noise environments, with both ends of the sheath reinforced with high-density heat shrink tubing. It can not only carry high-bandwidth, low-latency processor interconnect communication but also seamlessly integrate with fiber optic modules to achieve long-distance electrical isolation between remote racks and mainframe racks.
The TC-302-02-4M0 ICS Triplex Remote Expander Cable (Controller End), 4.0m may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

In complex safety infrastructures—such as Emergency Stop (ESD), Fire and Gas (F&G) systems, or Burner Management Systems (BMS)—I/O processing architectures typically extend beyond a single control panel.
The TC-301 series handles highly localized inter-chassis links, while the TC-302-02-4M0 remote series is designed for situations where the main controller chassis must connect to an expansion rack located in a different cabinet compartment or dedicated cabling space.
It outputs high-integrity backplane bus signals from the main rack's interface card and extends them directly to the remote expansion processing unit, ensuring that the main processor refreshes safety-critical I/O data with sub-millisecond precision and without signal propagation delay.
Because long-distance extension lines are susceptible to environmental crosstalk, this cable integrates a high-strength structural shielding layer to effectively suppress electromagnetic interference (EMI) generated during transmission through cable lines filled with multiphase field lines.
The cable ends utilize highly reliable, high-strength physically locking connectors—typically integrating an industrial-grade multi-pin front and rear panel connector on one side and a vibration-resistant push-pull retaining ring on the other. These connectors are mechanically designed to withstand the physical sag of a 4-meter cable and offset localized mechanical shocks, thereby ensuring complete isolation of the underlying SIL 3 triple-voting loop, unaffected by intermittent communication interruptions.
