The 3RT6024-1AN20 is an AC contactor from the Siemens SIRIUS series, primarily used for frequent start-stop control and circuit switching of three-phase motors. Its robust design and extremely high operating frequency make it a common switching element in industrial control cabinets and small-scale mechanical automation systems.
This compact contactor can be directly mounted on standard 35mm DIN rails via a DIN rail and can be modularly combined with other protection devices in the SIRIUS series (such as overload relays) to form a complete motor starting protection unit.
The 3RT6024-1AN20 Siemens 3-pole power contactor may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 3RT6024-1AN20 operates primarily through an electromagnetic engagement mechanism. When the control circuit supplies power to the coil, the coil generates electromagnetic force to overcome spring pressure, attracting the armature and simultaneously closing the three-phase main contacts to connect the main circuit. When the coil loses voltage, the magnetic field disappears, and the reaction spring quickly resets the contacts, safely disconnecting the motor power supply and enabling remote operation of high-current loads via low-power control signals.
- Pump Stations: Handling water supply and irrigation pumps.
- Logistics: Controlling motors in sorting systems and conveyor belts.
- Machine Tools: Managing main drives or auxiliary motors in metalworking and woodworking machinery.
