The KFD2-SOT3-EX1.LB employs intrinsically safe energy limiting and signal isolation technology: the input receives low-power signals from the hazardous area, which are processed by internal energy limiting circuitry and optocoupler isolation technology. Ensuring controllable energy, the signal is converted and transmitted to the output in the safe area. This process achieves complete electrical isolation between input, output, and power supply, guaranteeing accurate signal transmission and ensuring that equipment in the hazardous area will not acquire energy that could trigger an explosion under any fault condition.
Intrinsically Safe Isolation: Enables safe connection of equipment located in explosive atmospheres (Zone 0, Zone 1, or Zone 2) to control systems in safe areas.
NAMUR Sensor Interface: Designed specifically for processing signals from NAMUR proximity sensors, widely used in process automation.
Mechanical Contact Monitoring: Suitable for use with dry contacts (mechanical contacts) in hazardous areas.
Safety-Related Systems: Suitable for safety loops conforming to SIL 2 (functional safety) level according to IEC/EN 61508.
Signal Output: Features two passive transistor outputs, configurable as signal outputs or fault indication outputs.
Line Fault Detection (LFD): Automatically detects and indicates open or short circuits in field circuits.
Reversible Mode: Users can reverse the operating mode (switching logic) via an integrated DIP switch.
Power Rail Support: Can be directly powered via DIN mounting rails and power rail systems, reducing manual wiring.
