Product Information:

The CA202 is a heavy-duty, high-temperature piezoelectric accelerometer manufactured by Meggitt (vibro-meter®). It employs a symmetrical shear mode polycrystalline measuring element and is designed for long-term vibration monitoring of critical machinery, such as industrial gas turbines and steam turbines.

144-202-000-106 (Explosion-proof): This model complies with ATEX/IECEx intrinsically safe standards and is suitable for potentially explosive environments (hazardous areas). It comes with a 3-meter integrated low-noise cable encased in a flexible, sealed welded stainless steel protective hose.

144-202-000-203 (Standard): This model is designed for non-hazardous industrial environments. It uses the same high-temperature housing but employs a standard area factory wiring configuration and includes a 3-meter integrated cable.

Information

Overview Manuals Application Details

Features:

  • High sensitivity: 100 pC/g
  • Available in standard versions and Ex versions certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres
  • Symmetrical sensor with internal case insulation and differential output
The CA202 is a piezoelectric accelerometer from Meggitt’s vibro-meter® product line. The CA202 sensor features a symmetrical shearmode polycrystalline measuring element with internal case insulation in an austenitic stainlesssteel case (housing). The CA202 is fitted with an integral low-noise cable that is protected by a flexible stainless-steel protection hose (leaktight) which is hermetically welded to the sensor to produce a sealed leaktight assembly.

The CA202 piezoelectric accelerometer is available in different versions for different industrial environments: Ex versions for installation in potentially explosive atmospheres (hazardous areas) and standard versions for use in nonhazardous areas.

The CA202 144-202-000-106 144-202-000-203 Vibro-Meter Piezoelectric Accelerometer may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
Because these sensors utilize raw piezoelectric charge output, they do not generate a direct voltage signal. They require an external signal conditioner (most commonly used in conjunction with a Vibro-meter® IPC 704 or IPC 707 charge amplifier) to convert the pC/g charge loop into a standardized voltage or current signal before it is input to the MPC4 protection card in the VM600 rack system.
