Overview Manuals Applications System Topography & Cables

Features:

  • Long-distance signal transmission
  • Integrally attached electronics
  • Available in standard versions and Ex versions certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres
The CE281 piezoelectric accelerometer from Meggitt’s vibro-meter® product line is a vibration sensor designed for the monitoring and protection of machinery in harsh industrial environments and/or hazardous areas. The CE281 sensor features a centre-mounted symmetrical shear-mode measuring element using polycrystalline material.

The sensor uses integrally attached electronics to provide the required signal processing, eliminating the need for an external signal conditioner (charge amplifier). The attached electronics also performs charge-to-current conversion in order to provide a current-modulated output signal that is suitable for transmission over long distances.

The CE281 444-281-000-111 Vibro-Meter Piezoelectric Accelerometer may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).
Vibro-Meter CE281 444-281-000-111 Piezoelectric Accelerometer manual(Datasheets), Link Important Notice: Other accessories, manuals, cables, calibration data, software, etc. are not included with this equipment unless listed in the above stock item description. All prices are shown in USD.
Vibration monitoring in harsh industrial environments and/or hazardous areas
The CE 281 employs a current modulation design, enabling clear transmission of dynamic vibration signals over field distances of up to 1000 meters without signal attenuation. For creating a safe loop, it is typically used with the EC175 armored field cable assembly and connected to a control room interface panel.

Technical notes

The Meggitt CE281 vibration meter (444-281-000-111) is an integrated circuit piezoelectric (IEPE) vibration sensor for industrial environmental monitoring, featuring built-in charge conversion, 10 µA/g output, and long-distance transmission capability. Based on symmetrical shear piezoelectric technology, this sensor provides a wide bandwidth response over high-risk and wide-temperature ranges and has since been superseded by an upgraded model.
