The CA 201 accelerometer is equipped with a symmetrical shear mode polycrystalline measuring element, which has internal case insulation. The transducer is designed for heavy-duty industrial monitoring and measurement of vibration.
The accelerometer is fitted with an integral cable protected by a stainless steel flexible tube welded to the case. The CA 201 accelerometer is available in CENELEC approved versions and has a high sensitivity

Because this sensor generates a raw, high-impedance piezoelectric charge loop rather than a DC voltage, an external signal conditioner is required—typically used in conjunction with a Vibro-meter® IPC 704 or IPC 707 charge amplifier. This conditioner converts the pC/g loop into a standard proportional voltage or current signal before sending it back to the VM600 housing. During installation, the sensor is secured to the machine surface with four M6×35 hex screws, with torque precisely controlled at 15 Nm. Due to the fully internally insulated sensor base, no external insulating pads are required.
