Key Differences Between ADV142 and ADV141
Features:
- AC Digital Input Modules
- Digital Input Module (16-channel, 200 V - 240 V AC, Isolated)
- Digital Input can be used in dual redundant configuration
The Yokogawa ADV142-S02 S1 is a 16-channel AC digital input module for CENTUM VP systems, specifically designed for monitoring the switch status of high-voltage equipment in the field.
It can directly receive 200V to 240V AC signals and is commonly used to monitor the status of large motors, circuit breaker positions, or industrial lighting circuits. This module supports dual redundancy and is widely used in industries with extremely high signal continuity requirements, such as the power and petrochemical industries.
The ADV142-S02 S1 YOKOGAWA Digital Input Module may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

As the S1 model, this module is optimized for harsh industrial environments in terms of electrical characteristics and physical structure, exhibiting excellent electromagnetic interference (EMI) immunity. It can effectively identify the open/closed state of field contacts and convert it into a system-recognizable logic signal.
While both are 16-channel AC input modules, their core difference lies in their rated input voltage:
- ADV141: Primarily designed for 100V - 120V AC. It has a lower detection threshold, suitable for standard control loops.
- ADV142-S02: Designed for 200V - 240V AC (50/60 Hz). Its internal circuitry is enhanced for higher voltages, and its detection threshold in the "on" state is typically higher than 160V AC, preventing false alarms caused by induced voltage.
