Component Names and Functions
Features:
- Interface between the PCI Express and V net
- Control Bus Interface Card
- By installing the control bus interface card into the PCI Express slot of the PC/AT compatible computer, the computer is connected to V net
Its core function is to act as a bridge, directly connecting PCs/AT-compatible computers that have Safety Engineering Software (SENG) or Operator Station Software installed. These computers are connected to Yokogawa's proprietary Vnet control bus network. Through this interface card, engineers can remotely configure Safety Control Stations (SCS) or Production Control Stations from their PCs, perform online engineering design, monitor data, and perform maintenance, thereby ensuring efficient coordination and communication throughout the Distributed Control System (DCS) or Safety Instrumented System (SIS).
Furthermore, this interface card boasts extremely high communication reliability and flexible hardware adaptability. The VF702 S1 hardware is equipped with two BNC interfaces, fully supporting Vnet's dual-redundancy communication mechanism. When one communication link fails, the system can immediately and seamlessly switch to the backup link, thereby preventing industrial applications from going out of control due to communication interruptions.
The VF702 S1 YOKOGAWA Network Interface Card may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The VF702 card bridges the gap between Engineering Workstations (SENG), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Security Control Stations (SCS). It is fully backward compatible with the older VF701 card. This allows system engineers to use both older VF701 and newer VF702 interface cards on the same Vnet control bus segment without encountering timing or protocol conflicts.
