The SFS236C is a high-precision rotary feedback device designed for providing accurate speed and position monitoring in industrial automation and drive systems. It offers reliable motion feedback to motors, servo systems, and rotating machinery, helping to ensure precise control and stable operation. Its rugged, industrial-grade construction allows for stable operation in environments with electrical noise, vibration, and temperature variations.
In addition to motion sensing, the SFS236C supports real-time signal transmission to the control system, enabling effective diagnostics and performance monitoring. This feature improves system efficiency, simplifies maintenance, and enhances the long-term reliability of motion control and automation equipment.
The SFS236C Bachmann Communication Unit may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

Important Notice: Other accessories, manuals, cables, calibration data, software, etc. are not included with this equipment unless listed in the above stock item description. All prices are shown in USD.
The SFS236C works by detecting rotational motion through sensing elements and converting the mechanical motion into electrical signals. These signals are processed and transmitted to the control system, which uses feedback in a closed-loop control algorithm to precisely adjust speed, torque, and position.
1. Wind Turbine Control (Primary Applications)
Retrograde and New Construction Projects: Widely used in turbine control systems (including Suzlon and Senvion models) for pitch control, speed monitoring, and yaw system management.
Condition Monitoring: As part of the Bachmann Condition Monitoring System (CMS), it provides online diagnostics of the health of the drive system and turbine, helping to improve Annual Energy Per Utilization (AEP).
2. Safety Monitoring (SIL 3)
Safety Input Interface: For connecting safety-critical hardware such as emergency stop buttons, light curtains, and safety switches.
Fault-Safe Communication: Supports the CANopen safety protocol to ensure secure and reliable data transmission between the module and the main controller.
3. High-Density Data Acquisition
36-Channel Monitoring: Provides rich digital input capabilities (10-24VDC range), suitable for large-scale sensor arrays.
Harsh Environments: Designed for stable operation in extreme temperatures (-30°C to +60°C) and in non-thermostatic control cabinets such as those in power plants and marine facilities.
