  • 146054 3300 Ceramic Capped Probe, 3/8-24 UNF thread, without armor
The 3300 Ceramic Capped Probe is a state-of-the-art solution for monitoring machinery in aggressive chemical or high-pressure environments. The alumina cap and 304 stainless steel probe case provide robust protection and increased life for applications in anhydrous ammonia or other extreme pH environments. The ceramic capped probe is compatible with the 3300 Proximitor Sensor and extension cable.

The 146054, 146055, and 164517 probes were developed for applications that expose only the front of the probe case assembly to corrosive gases and liquids. These ceramic probe assemblies prevent corrosive gases and liquids from entering the front end of the probe case.

The 146054-10-20-02-05 Bently Nevada 3300 Ceramic Capped Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The front ceramic seal prevents corrosive gases and liquids from penetrating the probe assembly. Therefore, this probe is strictly designed for use in rotating equipment where the sensor tip must not come into contact with corrosive chemicals, such as:

Anhydrous ammonia (NH₃) turbocompressors and pumps;
Machinery handling chemicals with extreme pH values or acidic gases (H₂S);
High-pressure industrial steam turbine housings.

(Note: While the front ceramic tip is resistant to corrosive chemicals, the rear assembly is not sealed. During installation, ensure that the rear of the probe housing is isolated from liquid water, ammonia solutions, or other harsh environments.)

Technical notes
