Information

Overview Manuals Main Features Main Applications

Features:

  • 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes
  • 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System
  • 330101 3300 XL 8 mm Probe, 3/8-24 UNF thread, without armor
The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

Each 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System component is backward compatible and interchangeable with other nonXL 3300 series 5 mm and 8 mm transducer system components5. This compatibility includes the 3300 5 mm probe, for applications in which an 8 mm probe is too large for the available mounting space.

The 330101-00-52-05-01-05 Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components.
  1. Radial Vibration: Measures the dynamic motion of rotating shafts to detect imbalances or bearing wear.
  2. Axial (Thrust) Position: Monitors the static longitudinal position of shafts to prevent catastrophic contact between internal machine components.
  3. Critical Phasor and Velocity: Provides timing and phase reference signals for diagnostics and speed monitoring.

Ask our team:

  • Why is the 330101-00-52-05-01-05 optimized for the harsh industrial turbomachinery environment?
The 330101-00-52-05-01-05 employs high-temperature resistant cable insulation, corrosion-resistant probe materials, and electromagnetic shielding to ensure signal integrity under the harsh thermal, mechanical, and electromagnetic stresses common in compressors, turbines, and pumps.
  • How does the 330101-00-52-05-01-05 integrate with the 3300 XL sensor ecosystem?
As a probe component in the matching 3300 XL system, the 330101-00-52-05-01-05 requires compatible extension cables and proximity sensors. The entire system is calibrated before leaving the factory to maintain system sensitivity and ensure interchangeability.
  • ow does the 330101-00-52-05-01-05 support predictive maintenance strategies?
The 330101-00-52-05-01-05 enables early detection of imbalances, misalignments, fluid instability, and bearing wear by providing continuous, high-resolution displacement data. This facilitates condition-based maintenance and reduces the probability of catastrophic failures.
  • Why is the 330101-00-52-05-01-05 considered a key sensor in mechanical protection systems?
330101-00-52-05-01-05 As a primary input to the mechanical protection system, it triggers alarms or shutdowns when vibration exceeds safety thresholds. Its reliability directly impacts operational safety, asset protection, and compliance.
  • How can the long-term reliability of the 330101-00-52-05-01-05 be improved and its lifecycle cost reduced?
By providing continuous and accurate shaft behavior data, the 330101-00-52-05-01-05 enables early fault detection, optimizes maintenance plans, and minimizes unplanned downtime, ultimately reducing the total cost of ownership.
