The 21000 and 24701 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies are available with Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approvals. They are rated explosion proof for hazardous areas. Bently Nevada offers a probe support and oil seal (part number 37948-01) for long sleeves that must go through an inner bearing housing.
To externally mount proximity probes, use one of these allmetal Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies: 21000 aluminum probe housing assembly; 24701 stainless steel probe housing assembly The 21000 and 24701 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies consist of the following parts:A dome cover that screws into the body of the housing; Threaded ports for conduit connections; A probe sleeve of optional length; 0-rings; A reverse mount proximity probe; A thread seal; Optional conduit fittings; An optional standoff adapter.
The 21000-34-05-00-036-03-02 Bently Nevada Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies may still be available for purchase and support from Moore Automated Company beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

1.Global Oil & Gas Operations: This configuration is favored by global Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors due to the built-in 3300 XL probe's multiple certifications (ATEX, IECEx, CSA, etc.). It can be deployed in explosion-hazardous areas worldwide (Zones 0/1 or 1, Class I) without requiring hardware customization for different countries.
2.Standard Wall Thickness Bearing Housing Monitoring: The 3.6-inch sleeve is designed for standard wall thickness machine housings or bearing housings. It provides just the right detection distance to penetrate machine walls and piping, ensuring perfect alignment of the probe tip with the rotating shaft.
3.Critical Rotating Machinery Protection: Typically installed on high-speed centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and large industrial pumps to monitor:
Radial Vibration: Tracks the dynamic movement of the shaft to detect imbalance, misalignment, or bearing wear.
Axial Position/Thrust: Tracks rotor displacement to prevent catastrophic internal contact.
4.High Vibration, Confined Space Environments: Option 00 (without bracket adapter) layout is ideal for applications with limited external space. Attaching the aluminum junction box directly to the machine surface significantly shortens the mechanical lever arm, preventing components from cracking or loosening under the extreme G-forces generated by the machine.
5.Harsh Outdoor and Marine Environments: Option 03 Accessory Kit provides a robust cable connector for sealing existing extension cables. This unit features a NEMA 4/IP66 aluminum housing, commonly used in offshore drilling platforms and coastal petrochemical plants, and must withstand intense seawater splashes, tropical downpours, and sandstorms.
